Know your source format · JPG
JPG and JPEG are names for the same image format. Converting a photo to PNG or WebP cannot restore detail already lost to JPEG compression.
When to choose this output · WebP
WebP can be useful for web images and supports transparency. This tool uses lossy WebP encoding; a smaller file is not guaranteed. If your browser cannot encode WebP, an error appears instead of a mislabeled file.

Are my files uploaded or overwritten?
Images are processed in your browser. Originals stay unchanged and results download as new files. Pixels are re-encoded; this is not a tool for preserving original metadata.
