Unit converter
Convert cm to inches, kg to lb, Celsius to Fahrenheit, and other length, volume and data units.
RESULT
0.1 m
10 cm
How it works
Length and weight use fixed international conversion factors. Cups, pints and gallons are US liquid measures: one cup is approximately 236.588 ml. Digital units are decimal: 1 byte = 8 bits and 1 KB = 1,000 bytes, not 1,024. For example, 10 cm equals 0.1 m, 1 inch equals 2.54 cm, and 1 kg is approximately 2.20462 lb.
How to use
- Select a measurement category.
- Enter a value and choose the source and destination units.
- Read the live result or swap the units.
Worked examples and common mistakes
Check the category and both units. For length, 2.54 cm equals 1 inch. For temperature, 0°C equals 32°F: multiplying by a ratio alone is not enough because temperature scales also have different zero points.
Cup, pint and gallon use US liquid measures, not imperial measures or every recipe’s cup size. Data uses decimal units: 1 KB = 1,000 bytes. This differs from binary units such as 1 KiB = 1,024 bytes and does not predict compressed file size.
Frequently asked questions
Are these US or imperial gallons?
US liquid gallons, pints and cups. Imperial and metric cooking measures can differ.
How do Celsius and Fahrenheit convert?
Fahrenheit = Celsius × 9 ÷ 5 + 32. Kelvin = Celsius + 273.15. Temperatures below absolute zero are rejected.
Is a kilobyte 1,000 or 1,024 bytes?
This tool uses decimal KB: 1,000 bytes. Binary units such as KiB and MiB use powers of 1,024 and are not included.
